About Me

I have always worked in professional services, so working with people has always been at the forefront of what I do. Initially, I practised as a barrister but after a while decided that I was more suited to working in teams, developing a business. I also wanted to use both my legal and financial knowledge.

So in 1987 I joined a specialist management consultancy called New Bridge Street which had been set up recently by Clifford Chance. Little did I know that I would stay with the business for 20 years until my partners and I sold it to a US multinational in 2008. I ended up as Managing Partner/Senior Partner for 11 years. During this time it grew to be the pre-eminent executive remuneration practice in the U.K.

Anyway, after almost 30 years experience of advising, attending and presenting to Remuneration Committees of more than 100 FTSE companies and other organisations I decided that I wanted a change. I had always really enjoyed mentoring and coaching employees and I had always thought hard about how to motivate and engage people, so I decided that I would put my business and professional expertise to use by becoming a coach.  I then enrolled on the Henley Business School MSc in coaching and behavioural change and started my coaching practice. It has been a hugely rewarding and privileged experience.
